Other than buying her natural indigo blue dye, Kaho makes her own natural dyes from hand-picked leaves from plants and trees near her studio in Japan. She then tie-dyes patterns onto natural fabrics. Hemp is her material of choice, but for larger pieces, she uses a mixture of hemp with some rayon.
Kaho says the entire process of making a piece using elements from nature is good nutrition for her spirit.
